My takeaway from this week’s LIVE Art Tour- People really want to help. At the core, people are good and there are more people than not that want equality for all and support the Black Lives Movement. I hope you are with us too!
If you can’t catch us LIVE on Instagram @iamlauramadden, please check out my YouTube channel and my Instagram for the replays.
As promised, I showed up with cocktail in hand, wearing a cocktail dress- this week a custom garment by Sisi Aduke, 100% cotton, made of Ankara fabric with African print, and a vegan leather top from Goodwill AZ, lots of unnecessary jewelry (per usual) and a pair of shoes purchased almost ten years ago (loved clothes last- wink).
If you are not familiar with Sisi Aduke, I hope you will check her out. She is also the designer I partner with last week and the maker of the dress worn and auctioned off to local style influencer Kim Ho. Sisi is a Nigerian born designer, now based in Phoenix, AZ, and she is an incredible talent I feel so blessed to have crossed paths with.
I hope you will join me in supporting a local, independent and black woman owned business. Your support of black owned businesses is another great way to show your support for the black lives matter movement.
This week I shared 9 pieces of ReFashioned Art- most of which are available and for sale, but I would like to keep the focus on the items being auctioned off to raise awareness of that movement and importance at what is at stake for our country right now- equality, and my support for it.
In case you missed me the last two weeks, I am auctioning off ten pieces of custom art to raise money and raise awareness of the black lives matter movement and support people of color everywhere. I am using my privilege and my art as a means to not only raise money for the movement but to raise greater awareness of the importance of racial equality and to bring people together the best I can.
I will match and donate 100% of the sale of each piece, with proceeds going to a racial equality foundation or fund of the buyer's choice. NAME YOUR PRICE.
