How do you find value in secondhand clothing, someone else's discards, their trash? Not only are you shopping sustainably, conserving resources, reducing waste, but you are also saving a ton of money! But still, there are many people that just won't go there.
I know secondhand shopping may not be for everyone. It can be time-consuming, tedious, and even laborious. You may even find dirty, damaged or even smelly clothes. Some people just can’t get over the fact that you’re wearing someone else’s clothes (never bothered me), or essentially someone else’s discards- their trash.

Well, if you’ve followed me at all, then you know that none of the above bothers me. I actually thrive off all of it- the hunt, finding the treasures amidst the trash, and finding beauty in what others have decided was no longer beautiful. I take great pride in doing what’s best for the environment and extending the lifecycle of the garments that already exist. It is the circular economy, and I believe it can save the planet. I know that might sound a bit dramatic, but it’s true.
The planet can not keep up with the resources that the fashion industry demands of it. There is a finite amount- meaning when they run out, they aren’t coming back. This is really serious shit. And although I am proud of my efforts - it feels good to do good- this is really about preserving the planet for the next generation.
I want future generations to benefit from all the freedom and luxuries that the planet has allowed me to enjoy in this lifetime. For right now, I am doing my part to save the world with clothes.

If you’re like me and you love fashion but you also care about the environment, secondhand shopping is the best thing you can do for the planet to slow down the destructive cycle fast fashion is having on our planet. It is also the best way to shop sustainably without sacrificing style (and saving quite a few dollars too!).
