ReFashioned Resort: An Upcycle Design Challenge

... for the fashion lovers that also really care about the planet. This entire look was designed by Arizona designer Amanda Jacobs of Classic Reclaim, who is an expert at rescuing old garments that others might consider ready for the landfill [also known as upcycling]. This is one of my favorite looks- it feels so good! You’ll definitely be seeing this one on repeat. All items sourced from Goodwill.

"This look is all about the versatility of accessories. Part of building a sustainable closet is adding pieces that can be styled in a variety of ways. We expect to see this one-of-a-kind accessory on Laura for years to come." Goodwill

It has been my motto for some time now 'I'm always having fun with fashion, but not at the expense of our planet.' And it could not be more true than ever after the last year we have all experienced. I feel more connected and devoted to my mission of bringing together style + sustainability. So I recently partnered with Goodwill and designer Amanda Jacobs to host an upcycle design challenge in honor of Earth Day.

We sourced, shopped and shot photos of five complete looks custom designed for moi by Amanda Jacobs. Thank you Amanda for creating these custom designed looks using items that could easily have ended up in landfill and thank you to Goodwill for choosing me to host this challenge. Participants were asked to submit their upcycle designs for a chance to win a $100 Goodwill giftcard and show off their style.

Stay tuned for the additional looks for our @goodwillaz Earth Day Challenge. And also- I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate my birthday month 💙🌎♻️💃🏻 Follow me on Instagram for more footage and bts of our photoshoot.
